Our story
Confident Communications was born out of a desire to improve communications consultancy. Having worked for years with consultants and as a consultant himself, our founder realised there was an opportunity to do things differently.
Clients needed the flexibility to swap in and out different creative skills over their projects and access to a network of the best senior people, not just the nearest match most consultancies could offer.
Basing our offer on the right skills, not just transferable skills means we can provide exactly what you need to succeed.
That is where our 'Confidence' comes from.
Our core principles
-
Deliver with impact
We strive for excellence in everything we do, crafting messages that resonate and drive meaningful results. Our work isn’t just about saying the right thing — it’s about making sure it’s heard, understood, and remembered.
What it means - We are committed to high-quality, impactful communications that add real value to our clients' goals.
-
Adapt to your needs
Every client, project, and situation is different — and so is our approach. We offer flexible, tailored solutions that meet you where you are and evolve as your needs change.
What it means - We remain agile and adaptable, ensuring our strategies and services align with your unique challenges and goals.
-
Build together
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We believe the best communication happens when we work side by side with our clients, building trust, sharing ideas, and creating solutions together.
What it means - We work closely with our clients and partners to co-create strategies that connect and inspire, fostering long-term relationships built on trust.
Our founder and principal consultant
Mark Woods is an award-winning Chartered communications and public relations professional with over 16 years in the industry. Starting his career in agency PR before a move to Government communications, Mark specialised in creative campaigns and media production for a decade and followed this by making the sector jump to social housing.

This success was followed by further recognition, winning the European Employee Engagement Awards for his use of technology in a category that included John Lewis and Orange, and receiving an international award with Ragan in the US for his internal communications work.
Since 2021, Mark has worked as a senior communications consultant, rising to Director level, and working with national and international clients on key change and culture programmes, including The Ministry of Defence, The Post Office and The Welsh Government.
